Hello Bananians.
Weird as it seems, i find myself more occupied during this holiday than any other school days.
I've no job, but i have truck lots of places to go, events to get ready for (Mabul Trip, Prom, Christmas, Chalet)
ITS INSANE!
Well, at least i wont have to complain that im bored as hell during this holiday.
As you all know, or if you're living in some god-forsaken area on Earth, a group of
'us' went to Malaysia to do some charity work.
But really, its for the NYAA Gold Award.
I dont want to go into full details, or you'll all be killed by boredom, here's Mabul trip in a nutshell:In SG airport, apparently we brought too much giveaways for the needy, we exceeded the weight for check-ins.
And my bag, along with a couple of others, had to be the sacrificial bags.
So we threw all the liquids into one bag and check in only that bag.
Little did i know, only until we've reached the point of 'X-Raying' our hand luggage did i remembered i brought a pair of scissors with me.
Dumb.
And clever me threw the scissors to poor Mr Chia, who was left to pledge guilty of carrying a dangerous weapon that is not his.
May i remind you, we have not even reach Malaysia yet and funny things were already surfacing.
We arrived at Semporna via vans-which were regraded as buses there.
Checked into Sipadan Inn and into our 'Bunk-beds' room.

Best thing about this Inn, at least not for me, is the bar downstairs.
It has a billiard table-which many would mistake it for a pool table.
Apparently, we could use it and many of our boys and a couple of gals fell in love with it pronto.

Well, me being a girly girl along with other girly girls went shopping at the many street stalls outside our Inn!
It was amazing cas bargaining is a norm there!
Awesome!
Next day we were all set and ready for the main reason of this trip-Mabul Island.
An hour of boat ride till we reached the beautiful island.

White sands, clear waters, coconut trees cutting patterns on the silk-blue sky, vast sea beds covered with corals of every shape and size you could ever imagine.
Its amazing how the waters could lure you in and fuel your temptation to just jump in and feel its cold against your skin.

Well, back to the point, besides the magnificent sight of the island, there was the distinct segregation on the Island's face.
On the left is the rugged fishing village you see in your Social Studies Text on SG's past and on the right is the Oh-so-comfortable Resort we would we spending our nights in.
But dont be fooled, this was not the only segregation on this humble island. (More infor in part 2)
We met the village chief.
And we were quite disappointed cas who wouldn't think of a village chief as a big-sized, muscular and fierce looking man or probably an old, greyed hair, wise looking man.
Yet we came face to face with a rather average looking man, no offence.
Well, it was a wonderful experience.

Next day, we were ready for our first day of being kindergarden teachers.
But first, we had to rally the children of the village to become our students.
We walked into the foreign land, armed with toys and candies, we attracted the little children to school.

It was funny cas the scene really reminds me of this story about the man who blew his pipe and attracted mice and then little children.
Cas the kids came swarming behind us, calling and waving for the rest of their friends to join in the line.
Lessons were horrible, at least for me, because i couldnt speak a single word of malay and that is the only language, other than sign language, the kids understood.
So i could only be an assistant behind the malay teachers in our group.
In fact, i feel utter useless.
While that shall be part one of the Mabul Trip cas i have to toodle off to mass send all the videos and photos of the Mabul Trip to the so-called 'Mabulians'.Shall write soon, if time allows me!
PS: Pardon the quality of my photos, im too lazy to enhance and edit them.
