Sick with boredom

Life is such a bore.
I need new friends desperately.
There's something exciting about being at home alone, yet miserable at the same time.
Could someone please save me the misery.
Maybe i should go write a story.

Im looking at my new sewing machine and wondering why the f is it still in the box.
The End.

I think i need to see a doctor.
And so i did.
The doctor asked, "How can i help you, dear child?"
I said," I feel sick with boredom."
The doctor replied," Oh okay, i'll prescribe you some medication."
I head to the nurse's table to get my medication.
She passed me a piece of paper and smiled at me," This will help you a lot."
It read: "Go get a job."

This is how bored i am to make such crappy jokes.
If it's even a joke at all.

Mabul Island Trip Part 2

Hey bananians.
There's no P.Runway today.
Slot taken over by the dumb sea games thingy.
CRAP!
Well, im here, absolutely feeling lazy, to complete my Mabul Part 2.
I think i'mma really cut it REAL short and get it over and done with.

So everyday, for four days, we had to teach the mass of little children.
Feeling useless as usual-it didnt get better AT ALL.
But there's one lesson that did make my trip so much more alive.
The origami lesson on the last day!

You know why its so amazing?
Cas most of the crew did not know much origami skills and paper-folding is a mute activity.
Just my kinda thing!
If it wasnt for this particular lesson, i would've rot in some corner of Mabul feeling miserable.
Best thing? The kids loved it!

One thing i left out.
Rmb i mention something about some segregation and discrimination on my last post?
Well, we wanted to conduct our lessons in the comforts of their little school they have on the island.
(Amazing huh, we didnt expect they even had a school, WITH tables and chairs.)

We were told that there were two groups of ppl on this island-the stateless and the malaysian malays.
Apparently, the school compound can only be used by the malaysian malays only.
We asked for permission from the village chief to let the stateless kids to gain access in, at least for this period of time.
Well, apparently thru this, we get to learn about the level of segregation in a very ugly way.

Let me explain what happen;
We reached the school gate and found children standing outside the school gate.
We briefly tried to usher them in, but they stood rooted.
So we, obviously clueless, walked in to school.
And before we knew it, the malaysian malays closed the gates behind us, leaving the poor kids outside.
At that point of time, children started crying, we, or at least me, felt confused, panicky and a little of disgust.

The plain evil act from mere children.
Yet, i came to find out that they were not to blame, but their parents.
Well, of course we rushed to rescue and had the 'authorities' to deal with the rest.

But soon enough, i found just another segregation.
I was appointed to teach the so-we-call-them 'less fortunate children'
While i was distributing the gifts, the children lined up in four roles.
Apparently, i was right in front of the third role and there were a branch of girls here.
One of them started gesturing to me that the kids in the fourth line was smelly, dirty.
Only then did i realised and saw, the kids in the fourth line had sand on their face, half of them naked.
Till today, i still could not understand why we didnt see this segregation.
There was the 'privilaged', 'less fortunate' AND the 'less fortunate, outcast'.

These kids, and their parents, are so poor, they have hardly any dignity left in them.

Okies, lazyness has taken over me.
Now there's a part 3!
All about snorkeling!

XOXO Banana Queen!

Mabul Island Trip Part 1

Hello Bananians.
Weird as it seems, i find myself more occupied during this holiday than any other school days.
I've no job, but i have truck lots of places to go, events to get ready for (Mabul Trip, Prom, Christmas, Chalet)
ITS INSANE!
Well, at least i wont have to complain that im bored as hell during this holiday.

As you all know, or if you're living in some god-forsaken area on Earth, a group of 'us' went to Malaysia to do some charity work.
But really, its for the NYAA Gold Award.
I dont want to go into full details, or you'll all be killed by boredom, here's Mabul trip in a nutshell:

In SG airport, apparently we brought too much giveaways for the needy, we exceeded the weight for check-ins.
And my bag, along with a couple of others, had to be the sacrificial bags.
So we threw all the liquids into one bag and check in only that bag.
Little did i know, only until we've reached the point of 'X-Raying' our hand luggage did i remembered i brought a pair of scissors with me.
Dumb.
And clever me threw the scissors to poor Mr Chia, who was left to pledge guilty of carrying a dangerous weapon that is not his.
May i remind you, we have not even reach Malaysia yet and funny things were already surfacing.

We arrived at Semporna via vans-which were regraded as buses there.
Checked into Sipadan Inn and into our 'Bunk-beds' room.

Best thing about this Inn, at least not for me, is the bar downstairs.
It has a billiard table-which many would mistake it for a pool table.
Apparently, we could use it and many of our boys and a couple of gals fell in love with it pronto.

Well, me being a girly girl along with other girly girls went shopping at the many street stalls outside our Inn!
It was amazing cas bargaining is a norm there!
Awesome!

Next day we were all set and ready for the main reason of this trip-Mabul Island.
An hour of boat ride till we reached the beautiful island.

White sands, clear waters, coconut trees cutting patterns on the silk-blue sky, vast sea beds covered with corals of every shape and size you could ever imagine.
Its amazing how the waters could lure you in and fuel your temptation to just jump in and feel its cold against your skin.

Well, back to the point, besides the magnificent sight of the island, there was the distinct segregation on the Island's face.
On the left is the rugged fishing village you see in your Social Studies Text on SG's past and on the right is the Oh-so-comfortable Resort we would we spending our nights in.
But dont be fooled, this was not the only segregation on this humble island. (More infor in part 2)

We met the village chief.
And we were quite disappointed cas who wouldn't think of a village chief as a big-sized, muscular and fierce looking man or probably an old, greyed hair, wise looking man.
Yet we came face to face with a rather average looking man, no offence.
Well, it was a wonderful experience.

Next day, we were ready for our first day of being kindergarden teachers.
But first, we had to rally the children of the village to become our students.
We walked into the foreign land, armed with toys and candies, we attracted the little children to school.

It was funny cas the scene really reminds me of this story about the man who blew his pipe and attracted mice and then little children.
Cas the kids came swarming behind us, calling and waving for the rest of their friends to join in the line.

Lessons were horrible, at least for me, because i couldnt speak a single word of malay and that is the only language, other than sign language, the kids understood.
So i could only be an assistant behind the malay teachers in our group.
In fact, i feel utter useless.

While that shall be part one of the Mabul Trip cas i have to toodle off to mass send all the videos and photos of the Mabul Trip to the so-called 'Mabulians'.

Shall write soon, if time allows me!

PS: Pardon the quality of my photos, im too lazy to enhance and edit them.
